Coffee With the Curator - The Decapolis: Ten Greek Cities in the Near East

Thursday, August 19, 2021 | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Please join us for this month's Coffee With the Curator presentation, "The Decapolis: Ten Greek Cities in the Near East," presented by Bryan Hodgkins!

The Decapolis was a loosely affiliated league of Greco Roman cities in modern day Syria, Jordan, and Israel, each built according to the Greek and Roman architectural standards. In this presentation, we will explore the history of these ten cities beginning with their founding, and the features within them that allows them to stand out as Greco Roman cities in the Near East.

About the Speaker:

Bryan Hodgkins has a BA in History with an emphasis in Ancient history, and a BA in Biblical Studies, both from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.  Bryan then earned his MA in Bible History, and Geography from Jerusalem University College in Xenia, Ohio.
