Coffee with the Curator - Oceans of Kansas

Thursday, April 18, 2019 | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

“When The Amber Waves Were Blue” – Kansas was covered with an ocean 85 million years ago during the Age of Dinosaurs. The bones of many fascinating, and now extinct marine creatures from that time are preserved in the rocks of western Kansas. Join Mr. Mike Everhart for a presentation about life in the Western Interior Sea and the history of its discovery from 1867 to the present.

Mr. Everhart is a Special Adjunct Curator of Paleontology at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays, Kansas. His book, Oceans of Kansas: A Natural History of the Western Interior Sea, will be available for purchase during and after the presentation, and the author will gladly sign his work for you to take home. If you're one of Mr. Everhart's long-time fans, he would also be happy to sign your existing copies of his works as well!

As always juice, a continental breakfast, and coffee, generously provided by The Spice Merchant - Wichita’s Original Gourmet Coffee Roaster, are included!

Discounted admission: $4 per person! Members are free!
