The Cenozoic Era

The Cenozoic Era was a time that mammals dominated the land and fish filled the bodies of water after the mass extinction of dinosaurs. Examine the skull of a mesohippus, a small, three-toed ancestor to the modern day horse, or the complete gray wolf skeleton, chasing down its prey.

Stop by the exhibit to learn more about other Cenozoic species, including the variations between the mammoth species and fish, and facts about ancient and modern fish species.
