Museum of World Treasures Presents One-Night-Only Exhibit for New Spring Fundraiser The MOWT Gala

Nonprofit Celebrates 20 Years in Old Town with Formal, Art Nouveau Themed Event
Wichita, Kansas April 13, 2023— Museum of World Treasures (MOWT) is thrilled to announce The MOWT Gala, a formal fundraiser featuring a one-night-only exhibit named "Cabinet of Curiosities." This event will take guests on an exclusive journey through time, showcasing some of the rarest, never-before-exhibited artifacts from the Museum's collection. The Art Nouveau-themed MOWT Gala debuts this year in celebration of the Museum's 20th anniversary in its current location in Wichita's Old Town.
Allie Little, the Programs Director of MOWT, stated, "For this exhibit, I wanted to embody the spirit of an 18th-century collector and their 'Cabinet of Curiosities'. Both our Museum and many of the world’s oldest museums began with such cabinets of fascination. In this exhibit, you'll see more strange and wonderful things in one room than if you devoted an entire lifetime to travel."
The MOWT Gala will commence with a VIP hour, which includes a fashion show highlighting local small businesses, wine service, and an animal showcase from Tanganyika Wildlife Park.
Following the VIP hour, all guests will enjoy a formal dinner featuring live chef's station provided by Blue Moon Caterers and an open bar called "The Gismonda," offering a special cocktail sponsored by Central Market Wine & Spirits. The keynote address during dinner will be given by filmmaker and Kansas historian Ken Spurgeon, who will discuss his newest film project Sod and Stubble. Additionally, the Bella Dolce String Quartet will provide enchanting musical entertainment throughout the evening.
