Exhibit explores the spread of Buddhism through art, trade and cultural exchange

WICHITA, Kan. – Museum of World Treasures has unveiled its newly renovated permanent exhibit, offering visitors an immersive look at the history, art and cultural impact of Buddhism across Asia. Titled A Vehicle for the Ages: Buddhism’s Origin & Influence Across Asia, the exhibit brings together ancient artifacts and interpretive storytelling to explore how one of the world’s major religions spread past borders, through mountains and across the sea.

Rather than focus on a single place or time period, the museum applauses human connection despite geographical and cultural differences. The artifacts in this exhibit illustrate the artistic and cultural influence of Buddhism on different regions of Asia. Visitors are encouraged to explore the diversity of different Asian regions, and celebrate much of their shared history.

“This exhibit brings together history, culture and artistry in a way that makes global connections tangible for our visitors,” said Tiffany Fulco, Exhibits Specialist. “We’re excited to welcome the community to explore it and engage with the stories that have shaped civilizations across Asia.”

Other recent developments at the museum include the opening of Seeking A’aru: Journey to the Ancient Egyptian Afterlife and recognition from the Kansas Department of Tourism through its Attraction Development Grant program, supporting future expansion and programming initiatives.

The exhibit is included with the purchase of general admission. The museum is located at 835 E. 1st St N in Wichita.
