In a world full of technology, giving back and making donations is now easier than it’s ever been. With just the click of a button you can easily and instantly support your favorite organizations and make a meaningful contribution that is appreciated and recognized. Although our parents and grandparents might still be writing and mailing checks, there are certainly more convenient alternatives now.
When it comes to receiving support in the way of cash donations, every non-profit will tell you “Every little bit counts!” No contribution is too little and every donation is greatly appreciated! With that in mind, there are some very easy ways to make consistent micro donations that build up over time for organizations of your choice, AND will literally never come out of your own pocket!
One of these is the Dillons Community Rewards program. If you live in Kansas, chances are you’ve shopped at a Dillons and most likely have a Dillons Plus Card or Account, (you know at the check out when they ask you for your phone number or alternate ID). Well, did you know that you can link your account to a participating organization of your choice, and then every time you shop, Dillons will make a percentage donation to that organization? All at no added cost to you! Linking your account is very easy:
- Go to Dillons.com and sign in to your account
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Dillons Community Rewards
- Follow the onscreen directions and begin supporting your favorite organization!
It’s that easy! And once you’ve successfully enrolled in the Community Rewards Program you can manage and change your organization anytime.
Another great program that allows shoppers to support non-profit organizations with no added cost to themselves is the Amazon Smile program. If you’re like most people across the world, you’ve shopped on Amazon at least occasionally, or like many, especially in recent years, quite frequently! Amazon Smile is another program that allows you to link your account to an organization of your choice and then donates a percentage of every purchase you make to said organization. Signing up is easy:
- Sign in to your Amazon account and go to Smile.Amazon.com
- Search for your favorite non-profit organization and follow the onscreen directions.
- Once you have signed up for the program, you will then need to go into your mobile app and be sure to activate Amazon Smile. This is a crucial last step for mobile users!
These micro donations do truly add up and are always greatly appreciated. It’s a very simple way to do something good and make an impact for something you are passionate about. Whether you are writing and mailing checks, attending programs, or now just simply doing your regular shopping, making a contribution to a non-profit ensures that they can continue to operate in this sometimes-uncertain world, and continue to bring their mission and vision to life, as well as provide unparalleled experiences for new generations to come.
