The Museum of World Treasures hosts speaking opportunities in the fields of history, science, and the arts. This season, the Museum will host Wichita State University Assistant Professor of Latin American Literature and Culture, Dr. Francisco Flores-Cuautle. His research interests include Literatures of Exile, Memoirs, Autobiographies, Foundational Fictions, and Culture and Film in Latin America. Dr. Flores-Cuautle previously spoke at the Museum in the Spring of 2012, to give the Lecture Series presentation: "Becoming Cosmopolitan: New Perspectives on Thinking/Experiencing Latin-American Culture in Wichita."

His lecture for this month is entitled, "Teaching Latin America in the USA: Challenges and Perspectives."

This event is planned in partnership with The Big Read and the Wichita Public Library. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to revitalize the role of literature into the lives of citizens. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment.

Dr. Flores-Cuautle's lecture will be hosted at the Museum on Thursday, Oct. 15, starting at 6:00 p.m. Admission to this lecture is FREE for Museum members or $4 (+tax) for non-members. Please visit www.worldtreasures.org for more information and to purchase tickets.
