February Senior Wednesday: Motion Pictures and the Hays Code of 1934 with Allie Little
Wednesday, February 1, 2023 | 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Tickets: $4 +tax, Free for Museum Members
Join us Wednesday, February 1 at 1:30pm for our monthly Senior Wednesday. This month our topic is "Motion Pictures and the Hays Code" with MOWT Programs Director, Allie Little.
about the talk
The Hays Code of 1934 was an attempt at shielding the American movie-going audience from the “indecency” of the world. Enforced for decades, how did the Hays Code effect some of the most well-known movies of the day, what creative ways did Hollywood attempt to stretch the Code’s limitations, and does a person’s morality really reflect things they see in pop culture?”
