Talk Summary

Inspired by the science fiction writings of Jules Verne of fantastic voyages to space, visionaries like Dr. Robert Goddard and Wernher Von Braun took those writings to heart and set out to solve the engineering challenges of building a working liquid-fueled rocket. What resulted was a machine that would change the course of history.  From Chinese fire arrows to flying to the moon, we will follow the story of the rocket and the people who made it happen.
