As It Approaches Its 25th Year, Museum of World Treasures Lands a Spot on Wichita’s New Monopoly Board

Inclusion on the new Monopoly™: Wichita Edition highlights nearly 25 years of community connection.
WICHITA, Kan. (November, 19, 2025) –Museum of World Treasures announced today that it will appear on the new Monopoly™: Wichita Edition, a citywide release produced by Top Trumps in partnership with Hasbro that celebrates Wichita’s landmarks, attractions, and cultural institutions.

For nearly a quarter century, Museum of World Treasures has welcomed visitors of all ages to explore exhibits spanning world history, paleontology, ancient civilizations, and military heritage. As one of Old Town’s anchor institutions, the museum has long served as a cultural touchstone for generations of Wichita families, many of whom first gazed in awe at Ivan the T. rex on school field trips, weekend outings, or community events.

According to Visit Wichita, the Wichita metro area welcomed 6.9 million visitors in 2024 who collectively contributed about $1.5 billion to the local economy. This highlights the role cultural institutions like Museum of World Treasures play in driving regional tourism and strengthening Wichita’s visitor-focused economy.
“The absolute best moments in the museum are when we walk through the galleries and see grandparents talking with their grandchildren about the past,” says Marketing Director Kristin Martin. “Every day, we see history being passed down before our eyes.”
National audience research from the American Alliance of Museums notes that families rank museums among the most trusted and meaningful places to spend time together, a trend reflected in the museum’s own visitation.

As the museum approaches its 25th anniversary in 2026, the announcement offers a timely moment for Wichitans to reconnect with a familiar institution and reflect on its impact.
