WICHITA, Kan. – Museum of World Treasures will continue welcoming Kansas families at no cost through Friday, August 8, 2025, thanks to an official extension of the Sunflower Summer program announced by Kansas Tourism.

According to a message sent to participating attractions on Tuesday morning, Kansas Tourism reviewed program data and budgets and determined that there is enough funding to support five additional days of free access. The extension means that families across the state now have more time to enjoy hands-on learning experiences before the school year begins.
“Every day matters when it comes to making summer memories with your kids and this extra time will mean the world to many families,” said Mike Noller, President and CEO at Museum of World Treasures. “We sincerely thank Kansas Tourism for extending Sunflower Summer and for their continued investment in programs that make educational adventures more accessible across the state.”
The Sunflower Summer app grants free admission to one adult and all K–12 students in a household at participating attractions across Kansas. At Museum of World Treasures, visitors can explore exhibits on dinosaurs, ancient civilizations, military history, and more, making it an ideal stop for families looking to combine fun and education.
Kansas Tourism has noted that the program could still close early if demand exceeds the remaining budget. Families are encouraged to plan their visits soon.
