The Museum of World Treasures is pleased to announce the unveiling of our newest permanent exhibit, Form & Function: Making a Living in the Cenozoic.

 

Ever wondered what happened after the dinosaurs went extinct, or how anything survived the Ice Age? Find out at the Museum of World Treasures, the No. 1 rated museum in Wichita by tourists on TripAdvisor.com.

 

On Thursday, June 27, the Museum of World Treasures unveiled Form & Function: Making a Living in the Cenozoic to Museum members and special guests. Form and Function is a new and permanent exhibit that focuses on various mammal and fish species from the Cenozoic Era, the era that directly follows the extinction of dinosaurs and leads up to today.

 

This exhibit explores the relationship between the form of an animal’s body and how it relates to an animal’s lifestyle. It also explores the similarities between Cenozoic and modern species, and common misconceptions about life after the dinosaurs. 

 

This exclusive early viewing featured tasty hors d’oeuvres and drinks, as well as fun and educational activities for all ages.  The Museum would like to thank Tanganyika Wildlife Park for visiting with special animal guests that had distant relatives in this historic time period. The Museum would also like to thank the Sedgwick County Zoo for loaning several interactive educational items for the unveiling party.
